It is called IP Audio “VoIP – Voice over IP” the system that has audio functionality to communicate between 2 or more points, using a TCP/IP network as media. This means that the voice signal is sent in digital form, in data packets, instead of sending it in an analogical form through the switched telephone network.
The communications network we use to connect to the Internet is called TCP/IP network. To connect the elements together in a local network TCP/IP we use the devices called switch, and to interconnect local networks TCP/IP with different locations, we use the devices called routers.
Using Internet technology based on IP protocol allows to integrate in a single network:
VOICE + VIDEO + DATA
The IP intercom systems use proprietary protocols and also support the universal system called SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).
The IP Intercom allow to be fed from the same network cable. To do so, it is necessary to have a switch with PoE Ethernet ports.
